Stand for Them… and Honor Them

We don't need much talk to say that teachers deserve appreciation, as each of us carries in his memory a teacher who left an impact on his life, with a word, a stance, or a lesson, and may have changed an entire path without realizing the magnitude of what he did, so what is the importance of the teacher in our lives?

Stand for them… and honor them, because the teacher is not just a transmitter of knowledge, but a key partner in building the human being and shaping the future, as from the school comes the doctor, the engineer, the economist, the politician, the judge, the scientist, the soldier, and the media person, and each one of them carries something of the impact of a teacher who once stood before him in the classroom.

The strength of the economy starts from the human being, and the qualified human being starts from good education, and good education cannot be achieved without a teacher who possesses knowledge, skill, and the ability to keep up with the times, and for this reason, investing in the teacher is not just spending on education, but direct investment in the economy, development, the labor market, and Jordan's ability to compete.

In politics and society, the teacher's role goes beyond the limits of the book and curriculum; he contributes to building the aware citizen, who knows his rights and duties, respects the law, accepts differences, and realizes that belonging to the homeland is a responsibility, behavior, and practice.

And from here comes the importance of the royal support for teachers and education, which was clearly embodied by the visit of His Majesty King Abdullah II and Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah to the Aisha bint Abi Bakr Mixed Primary School in Aqaba, on the occasion of the International Day of Teachers, and their meeting with a number of male and female teachers and presenting congratulations to them, affirming their status and pivotal role in building the personality of the students.

The teacher today faces a greater responsibility in the face of a rapidly changing world, advancing technology, and artificial intelligence reshaping many professions and skills. Therefore, we need a competent, respected, supported, and capable teacher of producing a student who thinks and innovates, not just a student who memorizes.

In conclusion, the teacher is the investment that the homeland does not lose, as what he places today in the mind of a student may turn tomorrow into a doctor who saves lives, an engineer who builds, a scientist who discovers, an economist who develops his country, a politician who makes decisions, or a citizen who knows the value of his homeland and preserves it, and for this reason, the status of the teacher is not just an educational issue, but a national issue that affects the present and future of Jordan, and this is what His Majesty the King, Her Majesty the Queen, and the Crown Prince focus on in their attention to the teacher.
