Stability of water levels in Birket Al-Arayes this summer restores its natural life

Activists posted photos documenting the stability of the water level in Birket Al-Arayes during the summer season, after posting last year that at this time it was dry and its parched ground had appeared.

In this context, the head of the Khaled bin Al-Walid Municipality Committee, Engineer Rawia Gharaibeh, confirms that the measures taken by the relevant authorities to protect areas and reserves were the main reason for the stability of the water level in the pond and the return of its natural life, as it is the most famous pond in Irbid Governorate.

She stressed that the pond is witnessing attention, that the municipality thanks the relevant authorities for the measures they have taken, and that the municipality is about to establish a development project in the area, as Birket Al-Arayes is famous for having an old tradition in the past and is considered a destination for many nature lovers and environmental activists, and it is a reserve among the environmental reserves registered in Jordan where birds, turtles and some animals live.
