Slavia Prague draws with Fenerbahçe in the Champions League

Turkey's Fenerbahçe squandered a two-goal lead against its guest, Czech side Slavia Prague, settling for a 2-2 draw at "Şükrü Saracoğlu" stadium, as part of the third round of the Champions League league phase.

The Turkish team raised its tally to two points, provisionally sitting in 25th place, remaining winless after 3 rounds, while Slavia Prague reached the same tally in 29th place.

Fenerbahçe opened the scoring early in the 4th minute through Oğuz Aydın, who received a pass from Slovak Milan Škriniar, moved with the ball across the pitch, and fired a left-footed shot from outside the penalty area into the net.

Englishman Mason Greenwood added the second goal in the 11th minute, after exchanging the ball with Portuguese Nélson Semedo, then setting it up for himself and shooting with his right foot into the goal.

Slavia Prague narrowed the gap in the 15th minute through Lukáš Provod, who capitalized on a misplaced pass from Frenchman Mattéo Guendouzi in front of Fenerbahçe's penalty area and unleashed a shot that shook the net.

The hosts tried to extend their lead, but the Czech team closed down the spaces, with the first half ending in a 2-1 lead for Fenerbahçe.

In the second half, Slavia Prague goalkeeper Jakub Markovič saved a dangerous shot from Malian Nene Dorgeles in the 64th minute, following a cross from Belgian Romelu Lukaku in front of the goal.

The Czech team equalized in the 90th minute after Ayase sent a cross from the right flank, which substitute Pavel Káčer met with a touch into the net.

The draw came after Fenerbahçe's 6-0 loss to England's Aston Villa in the previous round, as their search for their first victory in the competition continues.

In another match, Germany's Borussia Dortmund defeated its host, Azerbaijan's Sabah, two goals to one, thanks to a brace from its Guinean striker Serhou Guirassy in the 10th and 53rd minutes, while South African Aden McCarthy scored for the hosts.

Dortmund raised its tally to 6 points, provisionally in 10th place, while Sabah remained at 3 points in 23rd place.
