"SEER" Saudi Arabia Reveals Details of "Exobot," Its First Electric Car

SEER Saudi Arabia revealed details of its first electric car, "Exobot," in sedan and all-wheel-drive categories, during the global launch event at the SEER Industrial Complex in King Abdullah Economic City, to be the first of the company's cars in a targeted fleet of seven models by 2030.

"Exobot" is manufactured in the Kingdom, while it was designed and developed locally to suit the climatic conditions and driving requirements in the region, combining a fully electric powertrain and advanced technologies in performance, cooling, connectivity, and driving.

The car relies on three electric motors with all-wheel drive, and the top category's power reaches 1111 horsepower and 1500 Newton meters of torque. The sedan accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 2.1 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h, compared to 2.4 seconds for the all-wheel-drive category and a top speed of 210 km/h.

The two categories fall within the large-size cars; the sedan is 5.26 meters long, while the all-wheel-drive is 5.02 meters long, and both have a width of up to 2.1 meters.

According to the company, the design is based on elements inspired by the Saudi environment and heritage, and includes a 2.4-meter-long front glass, along with 32 light strips symbolizing the year 1932. The car also features overhead doors nearly three meters long, opening in an arc path of 60 centimeters.

Technologies tailored for the region's heat

SEER developed a car cooling system suitable for high temperatures, and the company says that the "Halo" system can reduce the cabin temperature from 65 to 32 degrees Celsius within 10 minutes in extreme heat conditions.

The car also includes the Steer-by-Wire technology, which reduces the steering angle from 400 to 160 degrees, with a rear-wheel steering system, along with a digital system that includes a 48-inch curved screen with 8K resolution, a 10.4-inch central control screen, and an 8-inch rear screen.

It also features an AI-based voice assistant that supports Arabic and English, and SEER applications allow monitoring the charging status, controlling the cabin temperature, and some functions remotely, while the car supports wireless updates for the systems.

The safety system includes advanced driving assistance systems, including hands-free driving support, automatic lane change, and autonomous driving capabilities on highways, in addition to seven airbags and a structure designed with advanced technologies to protect passengers and the battery.

"First Edition" with a range of up to 670 kilometers

The series starts with a limited edition under the name "Exobot First Edition" in sedan and all-wheel-drive categories, with a power of 850 horsepower and 1000 Newton meters of torque.

The sedan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds, and the all-wheel-drive in 2.9 seconds. The battery capacity is 112 kWh, while the driving range, according to the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC), reaches 670 kilometers for the sedan and 560 kilometers for the all-wheel-drive, with charging from 10% to 80% in less than 30 minutes thanks to the 800-volt system.

SEER aims to increase the percentage of local materials in its cars to 45% by 2034, as part of a strategy to develop local manufacturing and supply chains associated with the electric vehicle industry in the Kingdom.
