Saudi Arabia Shifts Riyadh Schools to Remote Learning for a Week

The Saudi authorities have decided to convert in-person classes in Riyadh's capital schools to remote learning for a week, starting from Sunday to Thursday.

Parents of students received messages from their children's schools indicating the conversion of in-person classes to remote learning from Sunday to Thursday, through the 'Madarisi' platform and approved educational platforms.

According to one of the messages sent to parents, the decision includes all students, school staff, and both educational and administrative bodies.

Parents also received messages from other schools indicating that the schools will remain closed throughout the week, with one stating: "The authorities have just informed us that the schools will remain closed for the entire week."

The reason for the decision remains unclear, coming amid escalating tensions in the Gulf region and Saudi Arabia's exposure to attacks by the Houthis in Yemen, supported by Iran.
