Sailing team concludes its Arab Optimist participation

The national junior sailing team concluded its participation in the Arab Optimist Championship, which was held in Jeddah with the participation of 13 countries.

The team, represented by Miral Abu Anzeh and Zain Al-Shwaikini under the supervision of Egyptian technical director Omar Al-Zaini, was crowned as the best team, an achievement that reflects the development witnessed by the participation of Jordanian female athletes in the sport of sailing.

The participation in the championship served as an important milestone for the two athletes, Zain and Miral, in their first participation at this level, as it provided an opportunity to gain more experience and become familiar with the atmosphere of Arab and international competitions, in addition to developing technical and competitive skills.

This participation came within the framework of the Royal Jordanian Marine Sports Federation's efforts to develop the sport of sailing and build a strong foundation for national teams by providing opportunities for external exposure and participation in regional and international championships.

Sailing enjoys increasing attention at the regional and international levels, in light of the continuous development in competition levels, which makes external participation an important opportunity for Jordanian athletes to gain experience and raise their technical level.

The team's participation in the championship also contributed to strengthening Jordan's presence on the regional and international sailing scene, and opened the door to new opportunities for cooperation and sports exchange with a number of entities and cities in the region during the coming period.

Asian Finswimming Championship

In turn, the national junior finswimming team concluded its participation in the Asian Championship held in Haiyang, China, during which the team's champions were able to achieve three medals and record a number of advanced results and rankings, under the leadership of technical director Ahmed Al-Akoush.

Ghina Yassin achieved fourth place in the 50m surface and 400m surface races, and fifth place in the 50m surface race, while Joy Abdel Nour achieved fifth place in the 50m immersion race, sixth place in the 100m surface race, and seventh place in the 50m surface race.

Adam Al-Daqamsah also achieved seventh place in the 50m surface race and eighth place in the 50m immersion race, while Khaled Nazzal came in sixth place in the 50m, 100m, and 400m bifins races.

The national team also achieved fourth place in the 50m mixed relay race, just one fraction of a second away from the bronze medal, in a strong competition that reflected the distinguished level of the team's champions.

According to the federation, this Asian participation gained great importance for the national junior team, not only for the medals and results achieved by our champions, but also for the opportunity it provided to compete against the continent's strongest swimmers and gain experience in high-level competitions, in addition to its contribution to enhancing the readiness of the team's players and raising their technical, physical, and competitive capabilities, as an important step on the path to continued development and achieving more accomplishments for Jordanian finswimming in upcoming international and continental events.
