Registration opens for the "Ayla Red Sea Half Marathon"

The Jordanian Association for Marathons (Run Jordan) has announced the opening of registration to participate in the Ayla Red Sea Half Marathon, hosted by the city of Aqaba on Friday, December 4, in partnership with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), and with the support of Ayla Oasis Development Company as the official sponsor of the race.

The marathon continues its journey as a prominent sports and tourism event, having obtained the international road race label for the second consecutive year. This reflects the efforts of the Jordanian Association for Marathons to develop the race, elevate its organizational standards to international levels, and enhance its presence among sporting events that attract runners from Jordan and abroad.

Registration is available electronically via the official website of the Jordanian Association for Marathons www.RunJordan.com. In-person registration is also available in Amman until 2/12/2026, and in Aqaba at the Great Arab Revolt Plaza from 28/11/2026 until 3/12/2026, daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

The event includes three main races: the half marathon (21 km), both individually and as a relay, the 10 km race, and the children's race. The half marathon starts at 7:00 AM from the Ayla Oasis project opposite the Hyatt Regency Hotel, while the 10 km race starts at 9:00 AM from Al-Farouq Street before the golf gate in the Ayla Oasis project, and the children's race starts at 9:30 AM.

The children's race targets two age groups: the first from 6 to 9 years old, and the second from 10 to 14 years old, encouraging children to engage in physical activity and participate in a sporting atmosphere suited to their ages.

The marathon places great emphasis on sustainability and inclusion by promoting eco-friendly practices and enhancing the participation of persons with disabilities, thereby reinforcing the values of equality and community solidarity. The event also continues to carry its humanitarian message under the slogan "Run for Noble Causes," in line with the association's orientation towards utilizing sports to support humanitarian and developmental initiatives and create a positive impact in society.

With its distinctive location on the Red Sea coast and its tourism assets, the city of Aqaba offers participants the opportunity to experience a sporting event that combines challenge with the discovery of the city, contributing to the promotion of sports tourism and supporting economic and community momentum there.

The marathon is organized by the Jordanian Association for Marathons (Run Jordan) and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, with the support of a group of sponsors and partners, led by Ayla Oasis Development Company as the official sponsor, alongside the Greater Amman Municipality and the Jordanian Athletics Federation as strategic partners, Aqaba Development Corporation as the golden sponsor, Kemapco and the Jordan Tourism Board as silver sponsors, and Ghadir Water as the official water of the event.

Through the joint efforts of the organizing entities, partners, and supporters, the Ayla Red Sea Half Marathon continues to enhance its position as a sports and tourism event that combines sports, giving, and sustainability, contributing to solidifying Aqaba's presence as a destination for sporting events in Jordan and the region.
