Her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, President of the Royal Scientific Society and Chair of the Board of Trustees of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, patronized the closing ceremony of the seventh edition of the "Let's Innovate" entrepreneurship and innovation competition for youth, organized by Entro Gate last Tuesday.
The competition, held in cooperation with the "Maker Space," one of the Crown Prince Foundation's programs, the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development, the Jordan Tourism Board, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Al-Hussein Technical University, the Ministry of Higher Education in the State of Palestine, and a number of private sector partners, saw the participation of innovative students from several Arab countries.
The final results of the competition were announced at the closing ceremony, with 53 projects from public and private school students qualifying. The top five winners of the competition were revealed, in addition to winners across the eight sectors focused on in the entrepreneurial projects.
The event concluded a race hosted by the Jordanian capital, Amman, earlier this month, which featured the presentation of projects before a specialized jury from Jordan and the region to evaluate the participating ideas and projects and select the winners.
In its seventh consecutive edition, the competition aims to provide students with entrepreneurial skills and innovation tools, enabling them to develop entrepreneurial ideas that contribute to finding solutions to real problems within the eight main sectors.
The ceremony opened with speeches by "innovator" students from Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Palestine.
During her speech, Entro Gate CEO Samar Obeidat emphasized the importance of fostering entrepreneurship and innovation among students, given their pivotal role in shaping their future over the next ten years, noting that possessing these skills has become a necessity to keep pace with the rapid changes in the labor market and society.
Obeidat stressed the importance of starting to equip students with entrepreneurship and innovation skills from school stages by providing an educational environment that stimulates creativity, develops critical thinking and problem-solving, and transforms ideas into applicable solutions and projects, contributing to preparing a generation more capable of creating its own future and contributing to building a knowledge- and innovation-based economy.
She confirmed that the current edition of the competition was distinguished by the participation of a number of projects from the Gaza Strip, where participating students received specialized training in entrepreneurship and innovation remotely, and were able to develop their projects and present them to international juries remotely, in an experience that reflected their ability to continue learning, innovating, and developing creative solutions despite the challenges and exceptional circumstances they are going through.
Regarding the top five places in the competition, the Dyslexia Go team from Al-Riyada International Academy schools took first place, while the Educational Bag project from the Gaza Strip in Palestine, represented by Kafr Qasim Secondary School, came in second place.
