Arab Bank Supports the Conclusion of the 2026 "Sunbula" Initiative

The activities of the seventh edition of the "Sunbula" initiative for the year 2026 in public schools have concluded, launched by the Al-Jood Foundation for Scientific Care in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and with the support of Arab Bank. This took place during a ceremony honoring the winning schools, held under the patronage of HRH Princess Alia Tabbaa.

The ceremony witnessed the honoring of 50 public schools from various education directorates across the Kingdom, in recognition of their excellence in implementing innovative educational projects with a positive and sustainable impact. The ceremony also featured a review of several inspiring stories and experiences of male and female teachers, which proved that simple ideas and limited resources are capable of making a positive and tangible impact in the school environment and in the lives of students and the surrounding community.

Arab Bank's support for the initiative stems from its firmly established strategy in sustainability and social responsibility, and its belief that education constitutes a fundamental pillar for building strong and sustainable communities.

The initiative, launched in 2018, aims to foster a pioneering spirit among teachers, motivating them to find innovative practical solutions to challenges in the school environment and implement them on the ground in cooperation with the local community. The number of schools participating in the initiative this year reached approximately 1,300 public schools, while over 7,000 teachers received specialized training in the "Sunbula" methodology, alongside granting 22,000 certificates to teachers participating in life skills sessions. This contributed to the implementation of more than 2,500 projects benefiting over 750,000 male and female students throughout the Kingdom.

Furthermore, 67 public schools were honored whose experience did not stop at a single project, but rather continued to transform challenges within their school environment into practical ideas and projects that generate a continuous impact, having implemented seven or more projects. These schools succeeded in making the initiative an established practice and in maintaining the spirit of work and initiative among their teachers, transferring the experience from one idea to another and from one project to another.

In his comment on the initiative, Maher Kaddoura, founder of "Al-Jood Foundation for Scientific Care," emphasized that "Sunbula" starts from a core conviction that real change does not begin with the volume of available resources, but rather with human capability to invest what is at hand and turn ideas into tangible reality. He also expressed his deep appreciation to Arab Bank for its continuous strategic support of the initiative, praising its pivotal role in empowering teachers and contributing to the achievement of the initiative's educational and societal goals.

It is worth noting that Arab Bank began its strategic sponsorship of the "Sunbula" initiative in 2021, reaffirming its ongoing keenness to support the education sector and initiatives aimed at empowering educational cadres and developing student skills, in line with its orientations in promoting sustainable community development through its diverse social responsibility programs. The "Arabi-Maan" program embodies this orientation through its support of a group of diverse initiatives and activities that contribute to serving vital sectors including education, health, poverty alleviation, environmental protection, women's empowerment, and orphan care, through joint efforts with local community institutions.
