The President of the Petra Hotels Association, Samih Al-Nawfalah, emphasized the importance of this step in increasing the number of European tourists coming to the Kingdom, as the Rose City primarily depends on foreign tourism in its economy, which will contribute to enhancing visitor traffic and increasing the occupancy rates of establishments operating in the city, alongside benefiting local communities from the tourism activity.
Al-Nawfalah praised the role of the Civil Aviation Authority and all relevant government agencies in making strenuous efforts with the European Aviation Safety Agency, which culminated in the Authority's success in removing Jordan from the conflict zone information bulletin, meaning that we will see a clear impact on tourism recovery, provided these flights are regular.
The President of the Petra Tourism Offices Association, Abdulaziz Al-Hasanat, said that the return of European aviation, especially low-cost airlines, will clearly reflect on the reality of tourism movement and contribute to increasing the number of foreign tourists visiting various tourist and archaeological sites.
Al-Hasanat added that this step will play a role in accelerating the recovery of tourism movement in Petra, which was greatly affected by the suspension of European flights due to political circumstances in the surrounding region.
The Rose City looks forward with great optimism to the return of European flights, given their importance in reinvigorating the tourism movement on which the majority of the governorate's residents depend, and whose decline over the past months has cast a dark shadow over the local economy.
