Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Imad Hijazeen met with the Deputy Patriarch of Moscow and Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Anthony, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Russia, Khaled Shawabkeh, and the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom in Yekaterinburg.
According to a ministry statement on Friday, the meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Jordan and Russia in the field of Christian religious tourism, promote the religious and Christian sites in the Kingdom, and encourage Russian pilgrims and visitors to visit the Kingdom. They also discussed the participation of Russian churches in the celebration of the 2000th anniversary of the baptism of Jesus Christ in 2030.
