Mexican Embassy Celebrates the 216th Anniversary of Independence

The Mexican Embassy in Jordan held its official celebration of the 216th anniversary of Mexico's independence at the historic Odeon Theater in Amman, in the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Basma Bint Talal and Her Highness Princess Wijdan Al-Hashemi, as well as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Nancy Awamrah, representing the Jordanian government, along with several senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Kingdom, representatives of the business sector, university professors, media professionals, members of the Mexican community, and a select group of Mexico's friends in Jordan. The event featured a Mexican music evening performed by mezzo-soprano Maria Luisa Tamez and pianist Armando Merino, who are among the most prominent Mexican artists affiliated with the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature.

The Mexican Ambassador to Jordan, Jacob Prado, presided over the 'Cry of Independence' (Grito de Independencia) ceremony, where children from the Mexican community in Amman presented the Mexican flag to the ambassador.

The celebration organized by the embassy reflects its commitment to continuing to strengthen the deep-rooted friendship and understanding between Mexico and Jordan, encouraging cultural exchange, promoting the history, heritage, arts, and cultural identity of Mexico, and fostering appreciation for it.
