Member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Ahmed Majdalani said on Thursday that there is a trend towards postponing the Palestinian legislative elections.
Majdalani explained that the decision on whether or not to postpone will be settled next Saturday, during the Executive Committee meeting dedicated to discussing this matter.
The Palestinian legislative elections were scheduled to be held on October 28, while the candidacy and list registration phase began on September 26, amidst special arrangements to ensure the participation of voters in the Gaza Strip and Jerusalem, and amendments to the election law that included lowering the candidacy age, the electoral threshold, and enhancing women's representation.
