Main Salt Zakat and Charity Launches 'Goodness Parcels' Campaign

The Main Salt Zakat and Charity Committee launched the 'Goodness Parcels' campaign today, as part of its programs aimed at supporting needy families and enhancing the social solidarity system, distributing 200 food parcels out of 400 parcels, which will be distributed sequentially to the beneficiary families.

The distribution took place in the presence of the Director of Endowments of Balqa Governorate, Dr. Shadi Al-Shiyab, the Head of the Zakat Department, Samir Abu Sanobar, and a number of committee members and campaign organizers.

Ahya Arabiyat, Deputy Chairman of the Main Salt Zakat and Charity Committee, said that the campaign comes within a series of programs and initiatives that the committee implements throughout the year, targeting support for needy families and providing their basic needs, noting that the committee's programs include providing monthly salaries and emergency cash assistance, in addition to distributing food parcels, meat, and chicken.

He added that the committee annually implements the 'School Opening' campaign, which includes providing uniforms and school bags for students from needy families, in addition to kerosene and gas campaigns during the winter and providing meals throughout the year, reflecting the continuity of charitable work and not limiting it to seasons and occasions.

Arabiyat confirmed the continuation of the committee in implementing its programs and expanding the scope of its assistance, according to available capabilities, to reach the largest possible number of beneficiary families and to entrench the values of solidarity, compassion, and cooperation among community members.

Dr. Shadi Al-Shiyab, Director of Endowments of Balqa Governorate, praised the committee's efforts in serving needy families, appreciating the good organization of the aid distribution process and the role it plays in enhancing social solidarity and translating the values of giving into tangible initiatives and programs that serve the children of the local community.
