Popular figures in Madaba Governorate affirmed that the Throne Speech delivered at the opening of the third ordinary session of the National Assembly emphasized the importance and centrality of water security and the rule of law as foundations for strengthening national security, advancing the state's path, and rejecting extremist terrorist ideologies.
Mustafa Al-Maaytah, former president of Greater Madaba Municipality and lawyer, affirmed that the Royal Speech highlighted water security and the rule of law as priorities, sending royal messages to state institutions and Jordanian society that protecting national resources, safeguarding citizens' rights, enhancing accountability, and reinforcing trust in state institutions are paramount priorities.
He added that His Majesty's focus on water carries a high royal directive to give special priority to water issues amid the Kingdom's suffering from water scarcity, given its critical role in achieving national security, food security, economic development, and the sustainability of production sectors, especially agriculture—necessitating long-term national plans to achieve water security.
Yousef Khalaf Al-Ghulaylat, head of the Madaba branch of the Covenant Party, said that His Majesty affirmed in his speech that the rule of law is the basis for a sense of justice and trust in state institutions. His Majesty also stressed that there is no place in our country for anyone who views public office as an honor that exempts them from work or serving citizens, emphasizing that public office is not a means to achieve personal interests but to serve the nation and its people.
He added that His Majesty’s speech reaffirms integrity in public service for the sake of the public interest, confirming that our institutions must uphold a culture of institutionalism based on accountability, transparency, achievement, and holding accountable anyone who exceeds their authority or engages in actions contrary to public service ethics. He emphasized that His Majesty sent a clear message that no public official who misuses their position will be granted immunity.
Aktham Khalaf Al-Haddadin, a political and social activist and lawyer, affirmed that the Royal Speech is an exceptional state address in its timing, content, and messages, reflecting the wisdom of the Hashemite leadership and the firmness of Jordan’s stance in confronting internal and external challenges. It confirms that Jordan is moving forward confidently in protecting its security and stability, preserving the dignity of its citizens, and advancing the modernization and development process.
He said the Royal stance on the terrorist attack in Karak confirmed that Jordanians’ security and safety are a red line, sending an unequivocal message that the Jordanian state will not tolerate terrorism or extremist ideologies, and that justice will reach anyone proven to be involved in, support, or justify this crime, in accordance with legal provisions.
He added that combating terrorism requires, in addition to security readiness and the rule of law, confronting extremist ideology at its roots, promoting moderate discourse and religious and national awareness, and not allowing any party to exploit tragedies to spread rumors, incite, or harm components of Jordanian society.
Dr. Mdein Al-Mahasneh, Assistant Secretary-General for Legal Affairs at the Initiative Party, said that His Majesty’s speech today before the National Assembly constitutes a roadmap for the work of the three branches of government. The speech delivers a definitive statement from His Majesty on numerous issues, foremost among them the nation’s security and stability, by affirming that Jordan will remain impervious to terrorism and that national security and unity are red lines—especially following recent events in Karak.
He added that the Throne Speech emphasized the necessity of accelerating the implementation of major projects and strengthening the national economy—a significant point indicating that His Majesty closely follows every detail in the country. His Majesty addressed water security, treating water as a non-negotiable national priority.
He noted that the Throne Speech reaffirmed the rule of law and stated that no one who misuses a public office will enjoy immunity—a clear message to every negligent official. His Majesty spoke about citizenship and responsibility, the necessity of respecting responsible opinions, and enhancing a culture of dialogue and constructive disagreement.
Ayman Abu Tineh, former member of the Madaba Governorate Council, said the Royal Speech represents an exceptional roadmap confirming Jordan’s resilience in confronting challenges, protecting its security and stability, and continuing comprehensive modernization. He affirmed that the speech addressed the terrorist attack on Hamoud village church in Karak, underscoring the consolidation of national unity and the Jordanian people’s solidarity behind the Hashemite leadership, their rejection of extremist ideologies, and the fact that such ideologies have no place among us.
He added that political, economic, and administrative modernization requires integrated efforts to translate royal directives into tangible achievements serving citizens, while Jordan continues its steadfast role in defending the Palestinian cause and holy sites in Jerusalem. The nation will remain impervious to sedition and committed to its security and dignity.
Educator Abdul-Wahab Al-Shawabkeh said the Royal Speech renewed the features of the royal vision and aspirations for Jordan’s future domestically and internationally, reaffirmed national principles, and the reform and modernization process. It places responsibilities before state institutions to continue building, achieving, combating extremism at all levels, and preserving national security.
He added that the Royal Speech is not merely a constitutional occasion but a roadmap requiring all of us to translate royal directives into action and achievement, each from their position of responsibility, believing that nation-building is a shared duty and that true loyalty is demonstrated through contribution, sincerity, and work. Every word in His Majesty’s speech carries weight, distinction, and obligation for Jordanians at all levels and across all spectrums, calling on every Jordanian to be a loyal soldier for their country, leadership, and people.
