Ma'an Youth organizes a hike to promote coexistence with nature

The Ma'an Youth Center carried out a distinctive scouting activity titled "Cellular Hike and Coexistence with Nature" in the archaeological city and its natural surroundings in Petra, with the participation of 20 young people in the age group (12 - 14) years.

The guided cellular hike, supervised by scout leader Mohammad Adnan Al-Khatib, included many activities, most notably the participants traversing an environmental path between the rose-colored mountains and valleys, where they were trained on reading maps, using a compass, and following signs and tracks. The activity also included practical stations for learning how to cook in the wild using simple tools from nature, pitching scout tents, and managing available resources efficiently.

The event focused on applying the "Leave No Trace" principles to maintain the cleanliness of the archaeological site and protect wildlife and biodiversity in the region.

The activity aims to instill the values of patience, teamwork, and responsibility among members of the scouting movement, in addition to connecting them with the history of their ancestors and fostering pride in prominent national landmarks such as the Rose City.
