Jordan Draws with Syria in Friendly Match

The national football team drew 1-1 with their Syrian counterparts in a friendly match held on Saturday evening at King Abdullah II Stadium, as part of the national team's preparations to participate in the 2027 Asian Cup.

Ali Alwan opened the scoring for the Jordanians in the 38th minute, ending the first half with the national team leading by one goal. Syria equalized in the 52nd minute through Jean Mustafa.

The match marked the first appearance of goalkeeper Alek Samir with the national team, after being called up from the American league, in his first appearance with the team during the current phase of preparations.

The national team's coach, Badou El-Zaky, made several substitutions during the match to give more players a chance and assess their technical and physical readiness, and to try different options before upcoming commitments.

The national team continues its preparations during the current break, where it will meet its Venezuelan counterpart at 8 PM on Tuesday, October 6, at King Abdullah II Stadium, in its second friendly match as part of the preparation program for the next phase.
