Jordan and Kazakhstan discuss organizing mutual cultural weeks

Minister of Culture Mustafa Al-Rawashdeh and Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom, Talgat Shaldanbay, discussed ways to expand cultural cooperation between the two countries, including organizing mutual cultural weeks in 2027, encouraging the translation of literary and intellectual works, and exchanging expertise in protecting cultural heritage and creative industries.

During his meeting with the Kazakh ambassador, Al-Rawashdeh emphasized the importance of developing cultural relations between Jordan and Kazakhstan and strengthening partnership in artistic, literary, and knowledge fields, in a way that contributes to introducing the civilizational and cultural heritage of both countries and consolidating the bonds of friendship between their peoples.

The meeting addressed proposals for cooperation in the field of protecting intangible cultural heritage, and benefiting from modern technologies, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation in documenting and preserving it, in addition to exchanging experiences and expertise in cultural and creative industries.

The two sides also discussed encouraging the translation of literary and intellectual works from Arabic to Kazakh and vice versa, which would allow the literary and intellectual output of both countries to reach a wider audience and open the way for enhancing communication between writers and intellectuals.

In the context of cultural and artistic exchange, the two sides discussed the possibility of organizing Jordanian cultural weeks in Kazakhstan and Kazakh ones in Jordan during 2027, which would include artistic and literary programs and exhibitions that introduce the culture and national heritage of both countries.

The meeting touched on the possibility of the Kazakh side participating in the upcoming edition of the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts in 2027, and in future editions of the Amman International Book Fair, which would enhance the presence of Kazakh cultural and artistic experiences in Jordan and expand exchange opportunities between creators in both countries.
