Joint Patrols in Wadi Rum to Enhance Wildlife Protection and Address Environmental Infractions

Wadi Rum Reserve continues to intensify its field presence by implementing joint patrols to protect the environment and biodiversity, in collaboration with the Protection and Inspection Department of the reserve, and in coordination with the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature, the Royal Environmental Protection Administration, the Royal Badia Police, and several related security agencies.

The patrols cover various areas of the reserve and the buffer zone, aiming to enhance field supervision and monitor the environmental situation, in addition to detecting any violations or excesses that may affect natural resources, environmental habitats, and wildlife in the region.

Field efforts focus on reducing hunting, logging, and encroachment on natural habitats, and monitoring environmental violations and dealing with them according to the applicable legislation and regulations, which contributes to preserving the natural components of the reserve and enhancing its sustainability.

The continuation of these patrols reflects the level of coordination and integration between the parties concerned with environmental protection, and enhances the field presence in one of the most prominent natural and tourist areas in the Kingdom, preserving its wealth of biodiversity, vegetation cover, and natural habitats.

The Protection and Inspection Department confirmed the continuation of its programs and field tours in cooperation with various partner agencies, enhancing the environmental protection system in Wadi Rum Reserve, and preserving its natural resources and environmental value for future generations.
