Israeli occupation forces advance into Syrian villages in the northern Quneitra countryside

Israeli occupation forces advanced on Sunday into the village of Ofania in the northern Quneitra countryside, where the invading Israeli force included more than 5 tanks and about 20 military vehicles loaded with soldiers.

The Israeli forces also reached the vicinity of the village of Ain Al-Nouriyah and approached the Tal Al-Ahmar area in the northern Quneitra countryside.

This incursion comes at a time when the occupation forces continue their attacks on southern Syria and their violation of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, as they renewed their shelling on Saturday targeting the vicinity of Beit Jinn town in the Damascus countryside, and fired an artillery shell towards the village of Ain Al-Shaara which landed in agricultural lands, without any reports of casualties.

Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani affirmed in statements during the proceedings of the 166th session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level that Syria adheres to the option of a diplomatic solution and is working to end Israeli attacks, arrests, and incursions.

For its part, the UN Commission of Inquiry on Syria expressed deep concern over the Israeli violations, stating that the continuation of these practices represents a violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and describing this situation as unacceptable and must stop.
