Intensive preparations for the Bromine Amman Marathon

The Jordanian Association for Marathons, Run Jordan, continues to intensify its preparations for organizing the 2026 Bromine Amman Marathon, scheduled for Friday, October 2, by following up on various organizational, technical, and operational details and enhancing coordination between work teams and relevant authorities, ensuring the highest levels of readiness as the race date approaches.

In the context of this follow-up, the Director General of the Jordanian Association for Marathons, Lina Al-Kurd, held a meeting with the marathon organizers, during which the latest developments were presented, the work plan and coordination mechanisms between various teams were reviewed, and the readiness of requirements related to the race route, water stations, timing, volunteers, public safety, and support services was assessed.

The meeting discussed follow-up and coordination mechanisms between work teams during the various stages of the marathon, to enhance operational flow and rapid response to field developments, and to ensure clarity of roles and responsibilities before and during the race day.

As part of the preparation plan, the association held an expanded coordination meeting with the participation of the route director, the operations director, and representatives from security, medical, and traffic agencies, to review field readiness, enhance joint work mechanisms, and discuss key points related to traffic management on the marathon route, medical coverage, public safety, and mechanisms for dealing with various situations that may arise during the race.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the Operations and Control Department, the Central Traffic Department, the Women's Police, the Stadium Security Unit, Central Amman Police, North Amman Police Directorate, and Preventive Security, in addition to the Royal Medical Services and the Civil Defense, where field work requirements and coordination mechanisms between various entities were discussed to ensure the readiness of the route and race facilities.

Al-Kurd emphasized the importance of integrating efforts between all teams and partner entities, noting that preparing for the marathon requires precise follow-up of various details and continuous coordination to ensure the readiness of every element of the race, which reflects on the participants' experience and safety, and keeps pace with the status that the Bromine Amman Marathon has established over 16 editions.

Preparations continue this week by holding a meeting with the jury to review the technical aspects of the races, in addition to organizing special field tours for route organizers in cooperation with universities and volunteer organizations, with the aim of familiarizing teams with their roles and locations along the route and enhancing their readiness for field work on race day.

This comes within the continuous preparation program for the launch of the 16th edition of the Bromine Amman Marathon under the slogan "Run in the Heart of Amman," which continues its presence this year on the international road race calendar after receiving the road race classification from "World Athletics" for the second consecutive year for 2026, in addition to the participation of runners in the full marathon (42.195 km), relay marathon, half marathon (21 km), and the 10 km race, with categories dedicated to people with disabilities.
