The first closures will begin at 4 AM, followed by others around 7 AM, including major roads and axes in the capital, in line with the marathon stages and routes.
Al-Hazaimeh stated that the traffic management plan includes deploying personnel and vehicles at locations experiencing closures and diversions, and monitoring traffic both on the ground and via cameras, urging drivers to adhere to the directions of traffic officers and approved diversions.
The marathon includes three stages, with distances of 42 and 21 kilometers, with road closures according to the stages and routes of the races.
The Jordanian Marathon Association announced the traffic closure plan accompanying the Amman 2026 Marathon on Friday, in coordination with relevant authorities, to ensure the safety of participants and regulate traffic during the runners' passage on the race routes.
The closures include several main streets and axes in the capital, within the routes of the 42.195 km marathon (individual – relay) and half marathon 21 km and 10 km race, according to the specified times for each route.

These closures are within the shared route for the full marathon 42.195 km races, in both individual and relay categories, and the 21 km half marathon, as these races start at 6 AM.
As for the 10 km race closures: King Alia Street will be fully closed between the Sports City Roundabout and the Interior Roundabout, along with Queen Noor Street between the Interior Roundabout and the Fourth Roundabout.
It also includes Uqba bin Nafi Street and Princess Basma Street in full up to Al-Hashemi Square, from 6 AM until 12 noon, in conjunction with the 10 km race route, which starts at 9 AM.
The association called on citizens and road users to take these closures into account when planning their movements on marathon morning, to choose appropriate alternative routes, and to adhere to the instructions of traffic officers and relevant authorities at locations that will experience traffic diversions.
The plan is part of the field arrangements for organizing the Amman 2026 Marathon, which will be held under the slogan 'Run in the heart of Amman', with runners participating in various race categories.
