Sheikh of Sheikhs of Karak to "Al-Rai": Christians are sons of Jordanian tribes and partners in history and identity

The Sheikh of Sheikhs of Karak, Sheikh Atef Atiwi Al-Majali, valued the position of His Majesty King Abdullah II and his presence in Karak, confirming that the visit left a positive impact on the souls of the people and contributed to alleviating their affliction. He also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the security services and the positions of Jordanians in these circumstances, stressing the importance of continuing to stand together and strengthening national unity in the face of challenges.

Al-Majali confirmed, in an exclusive interview with "Al-Rai", that the Jordanian tribes are continuing their pledge with the Hashemite leadership in building the state and consolidating the rule of law and institutions, stressing that Jordanians, Muslims and Christians, are united by deep-rooted historical and social ties that transcend religious affiliations and form the basis of their national unity.

He said that the Jordanian tribes have been linked since the founding of the Emirate by a clear covenant with the Hashemites and have contributed to building the state, confirming that this journey is continuing and that the current phase requires strengthening awareness of the depth of the historical relations that bring together the members of Jordanian society.

He added that Jordanian Christians are sons of Arab tribes and clans, united with their Muslim brothers by tribal and historical ties rooted in this land for thousands of years, pointing out that the relationship between members of society is not limited to religious differences, but is based on a shared history and inherited social alliances and ties.

Al-Majali pointed out that Karak is an ancient city whose people have preserved through generations the values of upholding dignity and respecting everyone, confirming that what the city recently witnessed of a painful incident contradicts the tribal, religious, and moral values upon which Jordanians were raised.

Regarding the role of tribes in strengthening national cohesion, Al-Majali explained that "Faz'a" (collective support), chivalry, and solidarity are authentic values in Jordanian society, which were manifested in the positions of the people of Karak following the incident, confirming that Jordanians stand by each other in various circumstances, wherever events occur and in all governorates of the Kingdom.

He said that these values formed one of the foundations upon which the Jordanian state was built, confirming that Jordanians continue to consolidate the spirit of solidarity and cohesion, and to stand as one rank in the face of challenges, in a way that strengthens their national unity and preserves the cohesion of Jordanian society.
