Bayern Munich achieved a hard-fought victory over host Elversberg with a score of 2-1, on Sunday, at the "Ursafahr Arena", within the third round of the German Football Bundesliga.
Bayern opened the scoring in the 26th minute, after Moroccan Ismail Saibari launched from the left side and sent a cross into the penalty area, which passed between the legs of English striker Harry Kane, reaching Lennart Karl who shot it directly into the net.
Before the goal, Elversberg threatened the guest's goal on more than one occasion, as a cross by Lukas Petkov, after colliding with Kim Min-jae's thigh, went past the post, and David Mokwa failed to handle a cross by Lasse Günther from the left side.
At the start of the second half, the home team managed to equalize at the 61st minute through substitute Maurice Kratnamacher, who launched a powerful shot from a long distance that settled in the upper right corner of Bayern's goal, bringing the match back to a tie.
Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany made several changes to invigorate the attacking line, including the introduction of Colombian Luis Diaz, who missed a dangerous opportunity in front of the goal, before the crossbar denied French Michael Olise a wonderful goal with a falling shot.
The Bavarian team continued their pressure in search of the winning goal, which was achieved in the 72nd minute by Harry Kane, who received a decisive pass from Alexander Pavlovic inside the penalty area, before launching a powerful shot with his right foot that settled in the net.
Bayern Munich maintained their lead during the remaining minutes, securing a valuable away victory and continuing their pursuit of the leading teams at the start of the season.
The Bavarian team raised their points to 7, occupying the fourth position in the Bundesliga standings, two points behind Freiburg and Borussia Dortmund, while surpassing Augsburg, the third-placed team, by goal difference.
In contrast, newly promoted Elversberg's points remained at 6, after suffering their first defeat in the competition, placing them in sixth position in the standings.
