Al-Salt and Al-Wehdat draw.. Al-Ramtha snatches victory from Al-Arabi

The second round of the Professional Football League witnessed events that reflected a state of balance between the teams at the beginning of the season and showed the outlines of the early competition for the top of the standings.

In the match held at the Amman International Stadium, the encounter between Al-Salt and Al-Wehdat ended in a goalless draw, in a match characterized by defensive caution and a lack of offensive effectiveness from both sides.

The first half was lackluster with no real chances, while the performance continued at the same pace in the second half, before Al-Salt moved in the last ten minutes trying to snatch the winning goal, but the haste of its forwards and the brilliance of goalkeeper Al-Amwasi prevented the net from shaking, leaving both teams with just one point each.

At King Abdullah II Stadium, Al-Ramtha achieved an important victory over Al-Arabi with a clean goal scored by striker Al-Fusseini Gassama from a penalty kick in the seventy-fourth minute.

Despite the numerical disadvantage the team suffered after the expulsion of their player Yousef Hamdan since the fortieth minute, Al-Ramtha managed to maintain their lead until the final whistle, leaving with all three points and strengthening their position in the standings table.

As for the rest of the round's matches, they opened last Thursday with Al-Jazeera drawing against Shabab Al-Ordon one goal each, while Al-Hussein and Baqa'a's encounter on Friday ended in a goalless draw, before Al-Faisaly achieved a deserved victory over Doqra by two goals to nil.

Returning to the standings table, Al-Jazeera leads the summit with four points, outperforming Al-Salt, Al-Faisaly, Al-Ramtha, and Baqa'a on goal difference, while Shabab Al-Ordon and Al-Wehdat have collected two points each, Al-Hussein has only one point, and Al-Arabi and Doqra remain without points so far.

The third round kicks off next Thursday with Doqra meeting Al-Salt at Petra Stadium at 7:00 PM, while two matches will be played on Friday; the first brings together Al-Arabi and Al-Jazeera at Petra Stadium at 6:00 PM, and the second between Al-Wehdat and Al-Ramtha at King Abdullah II Stadium at 8:30. The matches continue on Saturday with Shabab Al-Ordon facing Al-Hussein at the same stadium at 7:00 PM, before the round concludes on Sunday with Baqa'a meeting Al-Faisaly at 7:00 PM as well.
