Bayern Munich thrashes Leipzig with six goals in the German League

Bayern Munich returned to winning ways after securing a crushing 6-1 victory over visiting RB Leipzig on Saturday at the Allianz Arena, in the sixth round of the German Bundesliga.

Notably, Bayern Munich had drawn 2-2 against Augsburg in the previous round of the competition, before drawing again 3-3 against Norway's Viking in the UEFA Champions League in the middle of the week.

With this victory, Bayern Munich raised its tally to 14 points, snatching the top spot in the standings on goal difference ahead of Borussia Dortmund, and one point clear of third-placed Freiburg, which visits Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday, while Leipzig remained frozen at 9 points in seventh place.

Bayern Munich imposed its control over the match from the start, with Colombian Luis Díaz opening the scoring in the 12th minute, before Aleksandar Pavlović added the second goal in the 26th minute, giving the hosts an early advantage.

Bayern continued its attacking pressure, and Frenchman Michael Olise managed to score the third goal in the 34th minute, before Díaz returned at the start of the second half to hit the net again in the 47th minute, raising his team's tally to four goals.

The Bavarian dominance did not stop there, as Englishman Harry Kane added the fifth goal in the 53rd minute, before Díaz completed his brilliance by scoring his third personal goal and the sixth for his team, completing a hat-trick and leading Bayern to a sweeping victory.

In the second minute of stoppage time, Serbian Andrija Maksimović scored Leipzig's only goal, but it was not enough to change the course of the match, which ended in a big win for Bayern Munich, propelling them to the temporary league summit.
