Grand Imam of Al-Azhar: The attack on the Karak church is a sinful terrorist assault whose perpetrators are devoid of mercy and humanity

Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed El-Tayeb condemned the attack on the Hamoud Church in Karak Governorate, southern Jordan.

In a message posted on his Facebook account this Friday evening, El-Tayeb stated, "Our hearts are with our brothers in the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, following the sinful terrorist assault on a church in Karak Governorate that targeted innocent, peaceful people."

The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar affirmed that "the crime contradicts the teachings of heavenly religions and reveals that its perpetrators are devoid of all meanings of mercy, humanity, and morality."

El-Tayeb expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to the victims' families, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured. He also prayed to God to protect Jordan and its people from all harm, and to perpetuate the blessing of security, peace, and stability for both Jordan and Egypt.
