The staff of Ghor Al-Mazraa Municipality continues to implement the national campaign to deal with stray dogs, in coordination with the Ministry of Local Administration, and in accordance with the approved protocols and procedures for dealing with this phenomenon, balancing the requirements of public safety and animal welfare.
The municipality confirmed that its field teams are working to collect stray dogs and transfer them to a designated shelter, where veterinary care, food, and drink are available, noting that the operations to deal with them are carried out according to the approved humane methods, ensuring the reduction of risks that may result from the spread of stray dogs in residential areas, roads, and public places.
The municipality emphasized that the campaign comes within the framework of its responsibility towards the local community and its keenness to protect citizens and maintain public safety, in addition to adhering to the standards and procedures approved by the competent authorities in dealing with stray animals.
The municipality pointed out that the call for animal welfare should be accompanied by respect for human dignity and the rejection of any practices or expressions that exceed the limits of responsible criticism, noting that its employees carry out their job duties according to official instructions, not from personal motives.
The municipality called on citizens and those interested in animal welfare issues to submit their observations and suggestions in a civilized and responsible manner, contributing to the development of mechanisms for dealing with stray dogs, while confirming that its doors are open to listen to different opinions and observations and discuss them within the legal and institutional frameworks.
It stressed that addressing the phenomenon of stray dogs is a shared responsibility that requires the cooperation of the municipality, citizens, and concerned parties, achieving a balance between protecting public safety and maintaining animal welfare, away from abuse, defamation, or accusations against field workers.
