The Ministry of Health intends to extend working hours in a number of health centers near Prince Hamzah Hospital to provide services to visitors from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM, as part of its efforts to ease the pressure on emergency departments.
Minister of Health Firas Al-Hawari (note: translating exact text provided by user's prompt name 'Ibrahim Al-Baddour') Ibrahim Al-Baddour said that the move includes health centers in the North Hashemi area, pointing out that the ministry is working to take similar steps in areas near Al-Bashir Hospital and in Zarqa Governorate.
He explained that emergency departments witness a peak in the number of visitors during the period extending from 4:00 PM until midnight, which necessitates enhancing the role of health centers in providing services that can be handled outside hospitals.
The extension of working hours aims to allow visitors to obtain health services at the centers during the evening hours and to alleviate congestion in emergency departments, thereby enabling the handling of cases that require emergency care.
Al-Baddour stressed that cases that can be handled at health centers will receive service there, while emergency cases, such as bleeding and accidents, require heading to hospital emergency departments.
