The president of the Abein Abein Sports Club, Yahya Al-Momani, emphasized the importance of intensifying health awareness programs directed towards women, particularly those related to breast cancer, noting that promoting the culture of early detection contributes to discovering cases in their early stages and increasing the chances of treatment and recovery.
This was stated during the educational and awareness day organized by the health committees of Abein Abein and Sakhra communities, in cooperation with the Abein Abein Sports Club, and with the support of the Ministry of Health and the King Hussein Cancer Center, in conjunction with the national campaign for awareness and early detection of breast cancer, and under the patronage of the director of the Jeneid district, Abdullah Al-Maadi.
Al-Momani said that the club's participation in this event stems from its social responsibility and its keenness to support initiatives that enhance health awareness among community members, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between sports and health institutions and community health committees to reach the largest possible segment of citizens.
He added that regular breast examination should not be linked to the appearance of symptoms, calling on women to take advantage of available health campaigns and programs, and to undergo necessary medical examinations and consultations, considering that prevention and early detection represent the first line of defense against the disease.
The event included lectures and awareness sessions that addressed the importance of self-examination and methods of diagnosing breast cancer and the "mammogram" examination, in addition to a dialogue session with women, and the provision of medical examinations and consultations and the referral of cases that require a mammogram.
The event also included an interactive segment and an awareness play presented by the young women of the Abein Abein Center for Young Women, with the aim of delivering health messages in a simplified and interactive manner, and enhancing community awareness of the importance of early detection.
