Conference "Jordan 2076: From Foundations to the Future" at the University of Jordan

The President of the University of Jordan, Dr. Nizar Obeidat, will inaugurate the activities of the conference ""Jordan 2076: From Foundations to the Future", organized by the IEEE Computer Society – University of Jordan at the University of Jordan Academy, in the presence of a number of academic and national figures, experts, specialists, students, and representatives of institutions and companies.

The event comes within the framework of a national scientific event aimed at supporting innovation, entrepreneurship, and community service, and enhancing the role of youth and students in developing technological solutions that respond to future challenges and needs in Jordan.

Jordan 2076 goes beyond the concept of a traditional conference or technical event, as it is designed as an integrated journey that brings together students, graduates, professionals, experts, and companies, allowing them to work collaboratively on ideas and technological solutions that can contribute to shaping the future of vital sectors in the Kingdom.

The event is based on the concept of "From Foundations to the Future", starting from the idea that building the future begins with the potential, ideas, and human energies available today, and that the development of Jordan in the coming decades requires the cooperation of different components of society, especially youth, the academic sector, the private sector, experts, and specialists.

The Jordan 2076 journey consists of three main stages, starting with the hackathon, which forms a practical platform for developing technological solutions to the challenges facing a number of vital sectors in Jordan, through four main tracks: Amman 2076 for education and learning systems, Irbid 2076 for the health system, Petra 2076 for tourism and cultural technology, and Aqaba 2076 for transportation and communications.

Participants work in teams to choose one of the tracks and develop ideas and technological solutions related to it, with the best teams from each track qualifying for the final stage, which takes place during the conference day.

In the second stage, the 45 qualifying teams underwent a three-day training camp on September 27, 28, and 29, 2026, at the University of Jordan Academy, where participants worked with mentors and experts from various disciplines, and participated in training sessions aimed at developing their ideas and turning them into more applicable projects and solutions, in addition to preparing them for the final stage of the competition.

The Jordan 2076 journey concludes with the main conference day on the 10th of the current month in 2026 at the University of Jordan Academy, with the participation of keynote speakers, dialogue sessions, technical and non-technical workshops, an interactive experience based on the concept of time travel, and opportunities for networking between participants, experts, institutions, and companies.

The conference day also includes the final stage of evaluating the projects qualified from the hackathon and announcing the winning teams and honoring them.

The organizers of the event confirmed that Jordan 2076 seeks to consolidate the concept of teamwork in building the future of Jordan, by creating a space that brings together those with ideas, expertise, and resources, and turning challenges into opportunities for innovation and development.

They pointed out that the event is not only aimed at hackathon participants and technology specialists, but also considers every participant, speaker, mentor, company, and visitor as part of this journey, thereby enhancing the concept of partnership between different parties in shaping future solutions that serve the Jordanian community.

The event is part of the efforts of the Jordan branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) to support innovation, entrepreneurship, and community service, while the IEEE Computer Society – University of Jordan has invited the media to attend and cover the event on October 10th next.

The Jordan 2076 event carries a fundamental message that the future is not built by one party or one team, but through the integration of ideas, energies, and expertise, and that what is being built today in terms of knowledge, innovation, and opportunities can form the foundation for the future of Jordan.
