Burma Municipality floats a tender for opening, paving, and maintaining roads worth 200 thousand dinars

Burma Municipality has received a grant of 300 thousand dinars from the Ministry of Local Administration to open, pave, and maintain roads within the municipality's boundaries, and to construct and treat water drainage systems, according to the head of the Burma Municipality Committee, Hamza Ayesh.

Ayesh said that the municipality has floated a tender for opening, paving, and maintaining roads worth 200 thousand dinars from the allocations of the Jerash Governorate Council, noting that maintenance work on a number of roads within the municipality's boundaries has been completed.

Ayesh added that the municipality worked on replacing and installing about 850 energy-saving LED lighting units, which contributed to reducing the electricity bill by 50%, explaining that the installation of solar panels on the municipality building has been completed, which made the building's electricity bill zero and saved about 13 thousand dinars annually.

Ayesh indicated that the municipality formed a committee to name the streets, based on a letter from the Ministry of Local Administration, and also worked on digitizing structural plans and the demarcation site, in addition to developing a number of municipal services.

Ayesh explained that the municipality signed an agreement with the Social Security Corporation, under which it was exempted from fines worth 132 thousand dinars, and also signed an agreement with the Cities and Villages Development Bank, under which it was exempted from fines worth 172 thousand dinars.

Ayesh pointed out that the municipality has finished its preparations for the winter season by ensuring the readiness of rainwater drainage networks and inspecting valley streams and culverts, with the aim of limiting the effects of weather depressions and ensuring water drainage.

Burma Municipality includes the areas of Al-Jazaza, Al-Majdal, Humta, Alimun, Al-Fawara, Dibbin, Al-Huna, and Khashiba, according to Ayesh.
