British Government Spokesperson Josceline Wollar said on Thursday that Jordan plays a pivotal role in the region, praising its efforts in maintaining dialogue among regional countries and providing humanitarian aid, especially to refugees and Palestinians.
Wollar added, in an interview with Al-Mamlaka TV, that Britain appreciates Jordan's role in the custodianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, emphasizing the importance of this role and her country's commitment to cooperating with Jordan in efforts aimed at achieving peace.
On the economic front, Wollar confirmed that enhancing economic cooperation and increasing the volume of mutual trade between Jordan and the United Kingdom are important priorities, in light of the move to expand areas of cooperation between the two countries.
She spoke about her visit to companies specializing in the gaming industry and her cooperation with the United Kingdom to enhance job opportunities and skills for Jordanian youth. She also mentioned her visit to a private university and meeting with a number of students, noting the aspirations and clear vision for the future she observed in them, and expressing optimism about Jordan's future.

In the field of education, Wollar spoke about the British Chevening Scholarship Program, explaining that it offers fully funded scholarships for one year of study in the United Kingdom.
She said the program seeks students with a clear vision, aspirations, and a genuine desire to make a positive change in their countries, noting that the application period is open until October 6, and inviting eligible students to apply for the program.
Regarding her visit to Jordan, Wollar described it as "unforgettable," expressing admiration for the kingdom's history and the generosity of its people, and saying that "the spirit of this country is something special."
Wollar spoke about her visit to the Baptism Site, describing it as a "never-to-be-forgotten experience," saying that the site reflects Jordan's unique nature in coexistence and the preservation of religious and historical heritage.
She added that she would encourage everyone who visits Jordan to visit the Baptism Site, describing it as a special place.
During the meeting, Wollar outlined a series of British measures, including the prohibition of imports from illegal settlements, the prohibition of economic activities within the United Kingdom that may contribute to illegal settlement expansion, and the use of the sanctions system against those who contribute to settlement expansion or commit acts of violence against Palestinians.
She emphasized that the British move is not unilateral, noting that London is moving alongside France, Canada, and with the support of countries in the region, including Jordan.
