Barcelona faces a new challenge with the team's salary bill, which is expected to reach 636 million euros this season, the same figure recorded in the 2019-2020 season.
However, the club assures that the situation is different now, as salaries account for about 53% of revenues compared to 74% at that time.
Ferran Olive, Vice President for Economic Affairs, explained that the increase in salaries is linked to rising revenues, especially with the renewal of contracts for several players and the improvement of their financial conditions.
Barcelona currently benefits from the 1:1 spending rule, which has allowed it to make contracts and renew contracts.
However, next season may be more difficult, with the team returning to the Olympic Stadium during the development works at Camp Nou, which may reduce match revenues.
