Baker Al-Majali: The narrative is a national and historical necessity to understand Jordan's journey

Writer and researcher Dr. Baker Khazer Al-Majali discussed the importance of the historical narrative in building national awareness and understanding the journey of the Jordanian state and its transformations, emphasizing the necessity of relying on facts, documents, and historical evidence in reading the past and connecting it to the present.

This came during a lecture titled "The Narrative is a National and Historical Necessity," organized by the Arab House Cultural Forum, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, on Monday evening, as part of the activities of the third season of the "Jordanian Cultural Days" program. It was moderated by writer Etemad Sarsak, in the presence of the forum's president, Saleh Al-Jaafra, and a group of intellectuals and those interested in cultural and historical affairs.

Al-Majali addressed the importance of the historical narrative as an entry point to understanding the milestones that contributed to shaping the Jordanian national identity and rooting it in the collective consciousness, stressing the importance of presenting history as integrated knowledge based on documents and evidence, which allows generations to grasp the journey of their homeland and understand the transformations it has gone through.

Sarsak began the meeting with an introduction to the lecturer, in which she touched upon his intellectual and historical interests and his contributions to the field of Jordanian narrative, paving the way for a lecture that sheds light on the relationship between history, identity, and national memory.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Al-Jaafra honored Al-Majali in appreciation of his participation and contribution to the program's activities, which the forum continues to organize in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, with the aim of stimulating cultural and intellectual dialogue, highlighting milestones of Jordanian history, and strengthening the presence of the national narrative in the cultural scene.
