Awareness Lecture for Wadi Al-Hoor Youth Center

The Wadi Al-Hoor Model Youth Center organized an extensive awareness event within the framework of cooperation between the Balqa Directorate of Culture and the Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs. The event was attended by the Director of Balqa Youth, Ahmed Al-Hadidi, with the participation of forty young men and women who are members of the center. The lecture focused on enhancing youth awareness regarding the importance of participating in political life and their role in the political modernization system, which constitutes one of the fundamental pillars of the national reform process.

The lecture, delivered by Yasser Al-Shawabkeh, Head of the Committees and Sessions Division at the Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs, delved deeply into the key axes of the political modernization system. He explained that this system came in response to national aspirations aimed at broadening the base of popular participation and engaging various societal segments—foremost among them the youth—in political decision-making.

Al-Shawabkeh emphasized that youth represent the true energy for positive change, and that their active presence in public life contributes to consolidating democratic values and enhancing political pluralism. He noted that the new electoral law aims to ensure fair representation and expand participation, while the political parties law seeks to organize and develop partisan work in line with the requirements of the upcoming phase.

The lecturer also explained that these laws constitute practical tools to activate the role of youth in political life, as they grant them greater opportunities to engage in partisan work and participate in elections, thereby enhancing their presence in the national arena and making them true partners in shaping the future.

The lecture included extensive discussions between the participants and the lecturer, where the youth raised various questions about the mechanisms of political participation and discussed ways to enhance their role in public life. This reflected their growing interest in following political developments and understanding the laws governing public action.

This direct interaction demonstrated a growing awareness among the new generation regarding the importance of engaging in the political process, confirming that such awareness-building meetings contribute to constructing an aware youth base capable of effectively practicing its national role, in line with the objectives of the political modernization system and reinforcing the comprehensive reform process witnessed in Jordan. These initiatives are bound to open new horizons for youth to engage in public work and affirm that the future of political life largely depends on their awareness and active participation in various fields.
