The "Leading Myself and Leading Others" workshop discussed advanced dimensions of institutional leadership, including building leadership awareness, values-based leadership, enhancing influence, developing work teams, and establishing an institutional culture based on trust, responsibility, and empowerment. The workshop also addressed the importance of institutions transitioning from traditional management concepts to leadership models more capable of motivating human capital, fostering innovation, and building work environments that support continuous learning and institutional development.
The "Leading Institutional Change" workshop focused on the leadership requirements necessary to lead transformations within Supreme Audit Institutions, including formulating a future vision for change, converting strategies into executive initiatives, managing challenges associated with change, enhancing communication with stakeholders, and anticipating the impact of digital transformation and artificial intelligence on the future of oversight work.
During his participation in the discussion sessions, Dr. Al-Hammadeen addressed the importance of institutional development being based on an integrated strategic vision that links human capacity development, innovation enhancement, and the utilization of modern technical solutions, while maintaining the professional principles that form the core of oversight bodies' work, primarily independence, transparency, and objectivity.
He also emphasized the importance of adopting a proactive approach to leading change, so that institutions are not limited to responding to existing transformations, but possess the ability to anticipate the future and prepare for its requirements, thereby enhancing their ability to perform their oversight mission and achieve a greater impact at the level of public administration.
The participation of the Jordanian Audit Bureau in the "MASTERY" program reflects the Bureau's orientation towards enhancing its leadership and institutional capabilities, opening up to international expertise, and consolidating a methodology of continuous development that supports its role as a supreme oversight body and contributes to enhancing the quality and efficiency of oversight work in accordance with international standards and best practices. This cooperation extends to the participation of the Bureau's staff in many specialized initiatives, most notably the (pICTure) initiative in the field of IT governance, and the Strategic Planning, Performance Measurement, and Reporting (SPMR) initiative, among other initiatives aimed at enhancing institutional performance and developing oversight practices.
It is noteworthy that the "MASTERY" program is one of the strategic leadership programs launched by the INTOSAI Development Initiative to support senior leaders in oversight bodies by providing an international platform for exchanging visions and experiences regarding future challenges facing oversight work, and enhancing leaders' capabilities in the areas of strategic leadership, institutional change management, and building more flexible and sustainable institutions.
