Inspection teams at the Ministry of Labor, in cooperation with the Public Security Directorate during the past few days, arrested 60 male and female domestic workers with runaway reports registered against them at security centers. The Ministry's official spokesperson, Mohammad Al-Zyoud, explained that the joint inspection rounds with the Public Security Directorate come within the framework of the ministry's efforts to organize the labor market, curb the phenomenon of runaway domestic workers, and protect these workers from being exploited by some individuals in ways that violate the provisions of applicable laws. He added that the ministry is continuing its inspection campaigns through the two committees that the Minister of Labor directed to form to follow up on the file of runaway domestic workers. Al-Zyoud emphasized that the inspection teams closely follow what is published on social media platforms and reports received regarding the employment of runaway workers on an hourly or daily wage system, noting that they are working to locate the whereabouts and residences of these workers. He pointed out that the ministry receives any observations regarding the whereabouts of runaway domestic workers through labor offices and directorates, or through the ministry's official social media platforms.
