Amman to Host the Arab Levant Agricultural Exports Conference Next Week

Amman will host the "Arab Levant Agricultural Exports Conference" on September 15-16, organized by the Jordan Exporters and Producers Association for Fruit and Vegetables, with broad participation from the public and private sectors and smart solution providers.

The conference is being held amidst growing global challenges related to food security and supply chain fluctuations, as the Arab Levant region emerges as one of the most promising agricultural territories due to its climatic diversity and year-round production.

Choosing Jordan to host this event represents a well-considered strategic step, given its pivotal geographical location connecting production markets in the region with major consumer markets, particularly in the Gulf countries and Europe, supported by its stable investment environment and advanced export expertise.

Through this hosting, the conference seeks to achieve a number of strategic goals, most notably placing the Arab Levant region on the map as a regional leader in the agricultural sector, enhancing agricultural product exports and increasing their competitiveness in international markets, in addition to building a direct platform to connect producers, buyers, and investors, attracting quality investments in the agriculture and supply chain sectors, as well as supporting agricultural innovation, increasing production efficiency, developing practical solutions for logistical and legislative challenges, and launching sustainable regional initiatives and partnerships that reflect positively on the region.

The conference proceedings are divided into four main pillars covering all aspects of the agricultural value chain; the food security pillar discusses the region's role in supporting regional food stability, sustainability challenges, and agricultural integration opportunities, in addition to the impact of Gulf countries' import policies.

Meanwhile, the financial solutions pillar focuses on export financing tools, agricultural insurance and risk management, innovative and green finance, and the role of banks in overcoming financing challenges facing farmers and exporters. The certificates and standards pillar moves on to address foreign market requirements, tracking systems, and quality and food safety standards.

The logistics and shipping pillar also examines cross-border land transport challenges, the development of maritime transport and refrigeration, reducing losses during transport, and exploring new opportunities to develop the Arab Levant as a regional logistics hub.

The conference agenda is designed to be comprehensive and effective; the first day focuses on the strategic and policy nature, while the second day is dedicated to the practical and applied nature. The conference activities include high-level discussion sessions, an accompanying agricultural exhibition, bilateral meetings to link production with actual demand, as well as practical workshops and specialized platforms to showcase investment opportunities.

The conference is a pivotal step that goes beyond theoretical discussion to open direct marketing channels with importers, unify regional efforts to enhance bargaining power in international markets, and reduce the gap between the producer and the supply chain, contributing to building a more integrated, competitive, and sustainable agricultural sector in the Arab Levant.
