The management of the Karmal Club has decided to appoint the national coach Ahmed Al-Shalbi as the technical director of the first football team, which operates in the second division, succeeding the previous technical director Khalid Arishdat, who recently submitted his resignation.
Al-Shalbi, who led Al-Arabi last season in the journey to ascend to the professional league, along with many successful coaching stations in his career, is considered one of the most prominent coaches on the local scene.
The board of directors is expected to choose the remaining members of the technical staff who will work with Al-Shalbi in the remaining stages of the tournament after consulting with him in the coming hours.
The decision-makers in the northern club aspire for the team's results to improve in the coming period and to compete strongly for one of the two tickets qualifying for the first division, following the victory over Wadi Al-Rayan and the loss to Shabab Al-Hussein.
Karmal, one of the oldest clubs in the north, previously played in the professional league for several seasons, during which it had a strong presence and achieved distinguished results before declining in recent years. The team's last participation among the major Jordanian football teams dates back to 2008.
