Al-Musa'idah: Digital Media and Artificial Intelligence are Essential Pillars in the Tourism Industry

The director of tourism for Karak Governorate celebrated World Tourism Day, which this year was held under the theme "Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence in Reimagining Tourism," aiming to highlight the importance of leveraging digital transformation to develop the tourism experience, improve service levels, enhance the competitiveness of tourist destinations, and promote them with a sustainable vision.

The celebration, sponsored by Karak Governor Dr. Qublaan Al-Sharif, was attended by the provincial police director, Brigadier Ghazi Al-Ru'ud, the tourism director, Sate' Al-Musa'idah, and official and community figures and those interested in the tourism sector. It embodied the tourist status of Karak and the spirit of genuine partnership between official institutions, the private sector, and local community bodies.

The celebration included a range of events that combined tourism, culture, heritage, and art. These included a heritage bazaar organized by the Sedat Madain Charity Association, which showcased local handicrafts and traditional foods, alongside folkloric performances inspired by the heritage presented by the Arwa Bint Abdul Muttalib Secondary School Girls' Choir and the Al-Qudaa Al-Samir Band, reflecting the authenticity of the place, heritage, and spirit of creativity.

In his speech, the provincial tourism director, Sate' Al-Musa'idah, said, "Digital media and artificial intelligence have become a fundamental pillar in the tourism industry and in building a more intelligent, comprehensive, and sustainable tourism sector by providing precise guidance for decision-making, answering inquiries, and developing successful tourism marketing plans that support the sustainability of the sector, contributing to the national economy and enhancing Jordan as a distinguished tourism destination.

He pointed out that the archaeological sites and tourist attractions in Karak Governorate have given it historical, religious, and aesthetic value, making it an important destination for cultural, religious, adventure, and exploration tourism. He confirmed that the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II to preserve Karak Castle, revive the city, develop the Wadi Bin Hamad and Al-Mujjab sites, and establish a cable car in the province are a royal testament to the importance of the sector in stimulating economic activity and achieving comprehensive development.

The ceremony included speeches that emphasized the importance of tourism in supporting local development, enhancing national identity, empowering local community members, and marketing Karak as an integrated tourist destination. They also highlighted the role of artificial intelligence and digital solutions in tourism marketing and managing tourist flows to the province, as well as praising the role of the Ministry of Tourism in integrating local communities and empowering them to develop local tourism industries and investments.
