The grief of Jordanians today for the martyrs of the Al-Hamoud Church in proud Al-Karak is a great and deep wound, exceeding in its scope the tragedies and grave incidents that have afflicted the homeland over the past decades. I can almost certainly say that every Jordanian home, from the north of the country to its south and from its east to its west, is inhabited by a heavy pain and profound sorrow for those innocents who ascended in one of the houses of God while safe, before they were reached by the cowardly hand of crime that was stripped of all meanings of truth, justice, and humanity; revealing minds polluted with malicious, corrupt ideas that serve only the enemies of the homeland and humanity.
This grave calamity that has befallen our Christian brothers at the Al-Hamoud Church is something that all Jordanians reject and condemn in the strongest terms; it is not merely a brutal assault, but an impossible strike against our own people, the authentic partners in history and destiny, who have struck their roots in the soil of this homeland for thousands of years, and have been and remain a solid structure and loyal builders of its glory and elevation.
