The "Al-Hurras Foundation" and the "Phoenix Ash Troupe," in partnership with Save the Children Jordan, are organizing a youth theatrical evening on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 7:30 PM, at the Al-Shams Theater in the capital, Amman. This event is part of the "Compass: Community Theater for Youth for Dialogue, Well-being, and Civic Engagement" project, funded by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA).
The evening includes four theatrical performances, combining the play "The Peg" with three theatrical experiences created by adolescents, which highlight youth perspectives and experiences, and provide them with a space to express themselves and their ideas through the art of theater.
The evening aims to promote dialogue, reflection, and community connection, and to highlight the role of theater in empowering youth and encouraging them to engage in civic participation, as it serves as a creative space that allows them to raise their issues, express their aspirations, and contribute to building bridges of communication and understanding among members of society.
This event comes within the framework of the "Compass" project, which focuses on utilizing community theater as a tool to enhance youth participation and well-being, and providing a supportive environment for dialogue and creative expression, allowing their energies and talents the opportunity to reach the audience and interact with them.
The evening is expected to provide a space for the audience to encounter youth theatrical experiences that carry diverse visions, and to emphasize the importance of art in bringing about positive change and strengthening the presence of youth in cultural and social life.
The evening will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 7:30 PM, at the **Al-Shams Theater – Amman**.
