The Faculty of Engineering at the university participated in the "Intaleq" competition for graduation projects in Jordanian universities for the year 2026, within the field of energy and water technologies, through a group of distinguished student projects. The projects were supervised by Faculty of Engineering members Dr. Omar Ahmed and Dr. Ayman Agha and were showcased at the exhibition of projects qualified to win the competition, held at the Signa Hilton Hotel/Amman, with the participation of a selection of university graduation projects in engineering and technical fields.
The competition witnessed the participation of two teams from Al-Ahliyya Amman University. The first team, supervised by Dr. Omar Ahmed, presented a project titled: "Smart Design Strategies for Water Supply and Sanitation Systems," which addressed the use of smart design methods to develop innovative solutions for water resource management and to improve the efficiency of water supply and sanitation systems. The team included students: Mohammad Abu Fara, Ameed Assi, Mohammad Awad, and Yazan Abu Salim. The second team, supervised by Dr. Ayman Agha, presented a project titled: "Sustainable Solutions from Sludge: Biodegradable Plastic, Water Purification, and Fuel Cell Integration," embodying the university's direction toward supporting student projects that employ modern technologies in water and energy treatment, combining innovation with environmental sustainability. The team included students: Abdullah Abu Rabea, Nadwan Al-Qudah, Sahl Al-Jawabreh, and Adnan Al-Ghazawi.
On this occasion, the President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Al-Widian, emphasized that the university's participation in the "Intaleq" competition for graduation projects in Jordanian universities embodies the university's approach to supporting student creativity and innovation, and encouraging applied research that translates academic knowledge into practical solutions that respond to developmental challenges. He pointed out that the university attaches great importance to empowering its students to develop high-quality projects in vital areas, especially energy and water, which enhances their ability to innovate and solve problems, opens broader horizons for competition and excellence, and strengthens the university's presence in national initiatives supporting entrepreneurship and excellence.
For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the university, Dr. Anwar Al-Assaf, affirmed that the faculty's participation in the "Intaleq" competition reflects its keenness to support high-quality graduation projects and enhance the integration between academic knowledge and practical applications.
