3.25 million digital identities activated via the 'Sind' app

The number of activated digital identities through the government's 'Sind' app reached 3.25 million, according to the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, confirming that the majority of digital identity activators are Jordanians.

The Ministry said that 87.5% of government services have become digitized.

The Ministry previously stated that the number of active users of the 'Sind' app reached about 320,000 users daily during August and September.

The Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Sami Samirat, said in a previous interview with 'Al-Mamlaka' that the government is committed to automating all digitizable government services, totaling 2,400 services.

Samirat added that all digital government services that are being digitized, re-engineered, or re-digitized will be added to the 'Sind' app.

- Organ Donation

Regarding the number of registrants for organ donation via the 'Sind' app, the Ministry said that the number currently exceeds 29,000 people who have expressed their willingness to donate organs through the app.

The director of the 'Sind' app, Muhammad Al-Batikhy, said that adding the organ donation service to the app has led to a significant increase in the number of registrants, explaining that registration is done by updating the app and entering the donation icon on the main page.

Al-Batikhy added that after entering the service, the user can view the religious ruling related to organ donation, then confirm their phone number, so that their willingness to donate appears in the digital family book for all family members.

He explained that the service allows the citizen to register their willingness to donate organs without specifying particular organs, noting that work is underway to add the possibility of specifying the organs a person wishes to donate in the event of their future death.

Al-Batikhy pointed out that the number of registrants is constantly increasing, given the demand for the service.

The General Ifta' Department has approved organ donation after death to save the lives of patients, within legal and medical guidelines, confirming that donation falls under acts of charity, solidarity, and the preservation of life.

The Minister of Health, Ibrahim Al-Budour, confirmed that the availability of the organ donation registration service via the 'Sind' app will be followed by the formulation of a comprehensive national protocol to regulate organ donation and transplantation operations, with the participation of medical, legal, and religious sectors.

The protocol aims to regulate the mechanism of organ donation and transplantation, determine the roles of concerned parties, and ensure the medical, legal, and religious aspects of the process.

The government had decided to approve the addition of the organ donation service to the 'Sind' app, with the aim of encouraging the expansion of this humanitarian work and facilitating it, considering it to represent the highest values of human and social solidarity.
