Zain renews its cooperation with the Princess Alia Foundation to continue supporting the Al Ma'wa Nature Reserve

Zain Jordan renewed its cooperation today, for the sixth consecutive year, with the Princess Alia Foundation to continue supporting the Al Ma'wa Nature and Wildlife Reserve and to enhance its efforts in protecting nature and wildlife, in line with its ongoing commitment to supporting projects and initiatives that contribute to achieving environmental sustainability in the Kingdom.

The renewal of this cooperation comes as a continuation of the support provided by Zain to the Al Ma'wa Reserve, which is located in the Souf area of Jerash Governorate and spans an area of approximately 1,100 dunums. It is dedicated to sheltering and caring for wild animals that are rescued or confiscated by the competent authorities, providing them with a safe environment and appropriate conditions, in addition to implementing specialized care and rehabilitation programs, as the reserve houses approximately 70 diverse wild animals.

Under this cooperation, the company continues to employ its capabilities and technological solutions to support the reserve's operations by providing free Wi-Fi service, allowing visitors to enjoy high-quality connectivity during their visit, share their experiences, and raise awareness about the reserve and its role in protecting wildlife. Additionally, it involves operating advanced cameras within the reserve to help curb irresponsible behavior toward forests and woodland areas, alongside monitoring through reports related to the reserve's environmental and social impact.

The reserve plays an important role in promoting environmental awareness and highlighting the importance of protecting wildlife and biodiversity by providing visitors with the opportunity to learn closely about the animals it houses, understand the challenges they face, and recognize the importance of preserving their natural habitats and interacting responsibly with wildlife.

The reserve represents a model of integration between nature conservation and support for local communities by providing job opportunities for residents of surrounding areas and encouraging eco-tourism to support local communities and achieve a sustainable environmental and social impact.

Zain's continued support for the Al Ma'wa Reserve falls within its sustainability management strategy and its keenness to contribute to protecting natural resources and promoting awareness of environmental practices, in addition to supporting efforts and initiatives that contribute to achieving sustainable development goals and employing technology to serve environmental and social causes in the Kingdom.
