This attack cannot be separated from the context of the continuous targeting of the Jordanian state since its inception. This targeting confirms the significant role Jordan plays in its Arab and global surroundings; it is the towering, steadfast fortress amidst turbulent waves, a support and aid to its Palestinian brothers, and it has always been a support and aid to its Arab brothers.
Furthermore, this attack cannot be separated from the war and Iranian targeting of Jordan. Over the past months, Iran has targeted Jordan, using the lie of the existence of military bases within it as a pretext. This targeting is clear and comes only in the context of seeking revenge against Jordan and attempting to undermine it, due to its role in assisting Palestinian and Arab brothers and its refusal to be beholden to foreign agendas.
The enemies of Jordan seek to sow extremist ideology and establish cells that operate under their command, to be ready to carry out their handlers' orders by "remote control" to destabilize Jordan and undermine the unity of its citizens.
The terrorist attack on the church is alien to our society. In Jordan, we live, Muslims and Christians, as one people in one homeland. While sectarian attacks occur in some countries, they have never occurred in Jordan, not even once; this is the first time we have seen a terrorist attack of this kind.
Because Jordan refused to be beholden to foreign agendas, refused resettlement and displacement, and refused to use our Arab causes for empty grandstanding and absurd adventures that bring nothing but disaster to our homelands, that is why they hate Jordan.
We have full confidence in our Hashemite leadership and His Majesty the King, and in the brave men of the Armed Forces and security services, who will work to apprehend the terrorists and bring them to justice.
Jordan is towering and stable despite the attempts of terrorism. And because a stable Jordan constitutes the first line of defense against Israeli schemes for displacement and resettlement, it is no wonder it is being targeted.
Jordan will always and forever triumph over terrorism and those who support it. May God protect Jordan, its King, its leadership, and its people.
