On behalf of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Youth, Dr. Raed Sami Al-Adwan, sponsored the opening of the Youth Centers Futsal Championship 2026.

The championship, organized by the Ministry of Youth in all governorates of the Kingdom, is held with the participation of 658 teams, more than 7,000 players, coaches, and administrators, under the slogan "Sports Unite Us... and Volunteering Makes an Impact".

Adwan emphasized that the championship brings together young people from all governorates of the Kingdom around sports and volunteer work, contributing to investing their energies and developing their skills, noting that the Ministry, through its youth and sports programs, is keen to link sports activities with volunteer initiatives that leave a positive impact on local communities.

The competitions aim to enhance the values of belonging and active citizenship among young people, and to promote a culture of volunteering by involving teams and participants in voluntary initiatives that serve the community. The championship also contributes to discovering sports talents.

The championship is held in three stages, starting with the first round at the brigade level from September 24 to 29, the second round at the governorate level from September 30 to October 4, and the third round at the national level from October 5 to 10, 2026.

During the opening match between the Shawish United and Al-Meringue teams, the audience raised banners with the slogan "No to Drugs," in support of national efforts to combat the scourge of drugs and raise community awareness of their dangers.
