The Israeli genocide toll in Gaza rises to 74,016

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Saturday that the death toll from the Israeli genocide in the region has risen to 74,016, with 175,068 injured, since October 7, 2023.

The Ministry said in a statistical statement that 'a total of 7 martyrs, including 6 new martyrs and one martyr affected by his injury, reached the hospitals of the Gaza Strip during the past 48 hours'.

It pointed out that 38 injured people reached the hospitals of the region during the same period.

It explained that the death toll since the ceasefire came into effect in October 2025 was 1,415 killed and 4,953 injured.

It pointed out that 'the total number of recovered cases reached 834 martyrs'.

It added that the cumulative toll of the Israeli aggression on the region since its inception has risen to 74,016 martyrs and 175,068 injured.

The Ministry revealed the 'addition of 81 martyrs to the cumulative statistics, after completing their data and approval by the Martyrs' Accreditation Committee, since the last addition to the statistics on September 19, 2023'.

The region is witnessing ongoing search operations as part of the second phase of the 'Restoration of Martyrs' Bodies' project, launched by the Civil Defense on July 19, 2023, with the aim of recovering the remains of the missing buried under the rubble of buildings destroyed by Israel, despite the limited capabilities and mechanisms available to the teams.

The second phase includes search operations under the rubble of houses in Gaza City in northern Gaza and the Nuseirat Camp in the center of the region.

Recovery operations are proceeding very slowly due to the lack of necessary equipment, despite the ceasefire agreement in effect in Gaza since October 10, 2025, which, according to Palestinian sources, stipulated the entry of heavy equipment and machinery to help remove rubble and recover victims.

In October 2025, the Government Media Office announced that the number of missing Palestinians since the start of the Israeli war on Gaza was about 9,500, including those whose bodies are still under the rubble of destroyed buildings, and others whose fate remains unknown.

The second phase of the 'Restoration of Martyrs' Bodies' project is being implemented over 800 working hours and includes the search for the bodies of missing people under the rubble of 147 destroyed houses in the Gaza, northern, and central governorates, believed to contain 1,072 bodies, according to previous data from the Civil Defense.

The first phase of the project was launched at the end of November 2025, during which about 333 bodies and remains were recovered from under the rubble of 54 houses and buildings out of 559 missing people.

Since October 8, 2023, Israel, with American support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, leaving more than 73,000 dead and over 174,000 Palestinian injured, and destroying about 90 percent of the infrastructure.
