The Crown Prince Participates Today in the Work of the South European Countries Summit 'MED 9'

Jordan's participation in the summit as a main guest for the third consecutive time underscores the importance of the Kingdom's role in the region and its solid partnership with the European Union.

The 'MED 9' group includes nine EU member states from southern Europe: Croatia, Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Slovenia, and Spain.

On the sidelines of the 'MED 9' summit, His Highness met with the Croatian Prime Minister on Tuesday, expressing his appreciation for the invitation to Jordan to participate as a main guest in the summit's work for the third consecutive year, which confirms the strength of relations between the Kingdom, Croatia, and the group's countries.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various fields, as His Highness spoke about the Jordanian-European Investment Conference that the Kingdom will host in November, and its importance in strengthening partnerships between Jordan and the EU countries.

His Highness reviewed the preparations for commemorating the second millennium of the Baptism of Jesus Christ in 2030 at the site of the Baptism of Jesus Christ (Al-Maghtas), reflecting the historical significance of the occasion and the site, and affirming the Kingdom's status as a global destination for Christian pilgrimage.

Speaking about regional developments, His Highness emphasized the importance of intensifying international efforts to restore calm in the region and enhancing joint work to address the challenges facing the southern EU countries and the Mediterranean neighborhood.
